The EDCF at the Lumière Summit

EDCF Vice President Patrick von Sychowski was amongst an exclusive group of 220 industry leaders that attended the inaugural Lumière Summit to discuss shared strategies for the future of cinema and the wider media sector.

Patrick moderated a panel on rebuilding film circulation, which explored how distributors and exhibitors could work together to address structural imbalances, from concentrated access to screens and marketing to release calendars dominated by a handful of major titles. Speakers Jackie Brenneman (IFTA), Eduardo Acuna (Regal Entertainment Group), Mathias Holtz (Europa Cinemas) and Sidonie Dumas (Gaumont) discussed how better release planning, data sharing, programming commitments and access to screens could help a wider range of films reach audiences and travel across territories.
