The European Digital Cinema Forum (EDCF), one of the leading associations for professionals and technologists in the cinema industry across Europe, is pleased to announce the election of its new board of directors. The new board reflects a continued focus on innovation, expertise, and leadership within the digital cinema community.
Cathy Huis in ‘t Veld-Esser Re-elected as President
Cathy Huis in ‘t Veld-Esser (photo above), Chief Technology Officer at Gofilex, has been re-elected as President of the EDCF for a second consecutive term. Cathy, a prominent figure in the cinema technology industry, has been instrumental in pioneering advanced solutions for digital content distribution and live event streaming. Since joining Gofilex in 2005, she has led the development of a global digital content delivery network (ODD) and optimized this network for high-quality, error-free live streaming in cinemas around the world.
In addition to her role as President of EDCF, Cathy serves as a board member of multiple industry bodies, including ICTA, and was a mentor for UNIC’s Women in Cinema programme.
Patrick von Sychowski Elected as Vice President
Patrick von Sychowski, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience, has been elected Vice President of the EDCF, succeeding Julian Pinn. Patrick has an extensive background in cinema business development and analysis, having worked with major companies such as Unique Digital, Deluxe, and CinemaNext. He was also a co-founder and editor of Celluloid Junkie, a prominent publication covering the global cinema industry. His deep knowledge of the sector and commitment to its growth will be invaluable to EDCF in his new role.
Tammo Buhren Continues as Treasurer
Tammo Buhren, CEO of zweiB GmbH and Vandors GmbH, will continue to serve as the EDCF’s Treasurer. A seasoned event engineer and entrepreneur, Tammo has been a key figure in cinema technology since founding zweiB GmbH in 2003. His companies support a wide array of cinema-related projects, from film premieres to tradeshow installations, and provide integrative cinema solutions through Vandors GmbH, a company acquired in 2023.
